  1. I see multiple themes in this story. One of the themes are “Everyone and Everything is equal”. Even though Matt is a clone some people still accept him for who he is. This shows that everyone should accept someone for their personality not what they are known to be. It would make the world a better place.

  2. The theme I am seeing often in the story currently is that no matter the situation there is always a bright side and by doing that it may turn out better than it started.

  3. I see a theme emerging, a theme of want and need for freedom. Since Matt is really figuring out the darkness of the Scorpion house, he wants to run away to be free.

  4. Matt has found out that he is a clone. He had a marking on his foot which made everyone know he was a clone. Matt did not know why he was a clone. Rosa threatened that she would kill him and bury him under the house. Since she said that he has not spoken another to another person in a very long time.

  5. Even if something isn’t a human they should still be looked upon like it is a human, this is just how they treat Matt. They think of him as a animal that shouldn’t be alive or spare parts for El Patron. At the end of the book he then finds out that he is a real human because Esprenza explains to him that when El Patron died those years ago he had become him and therefore became a human. He was shocked to find this out and everyone then respected him and didn’t question him before. So even if you aren’t human you should still be treated like one.
