  1. Matt the main character, who is also El Patrons clone, changes a lot during the first couple of chapters in the book. The first time he changed was when he got locked up in the estate. They locked him up because they found out that he was a clone and they didn’t want others to see him. He changed after this experience by not talking. He wouldn’t talk because he was used to getting hurt whenever he would speak. So after they released him he still wouldn’t talk. He changed again at El Patrons and his birthday party. At the party he began acting and sounding more and more like El Patron, by being rude and mean to some of his guests.

  2. The main character Matt drastically changes after he breaks out of the house he lived in for six years and explores the real world. But this exploring doesn’t last long because he is soon trapped in a room for about six months, as if he were an animal, which is what many people call him. After that traumatic experience the man he is coned after comes to see him. The man is very wealthy and commands everyone to treat Matt like a normal boy. So far this is happening, but some people still see him as just an animal.

  3. One of the characters, Felicia, starts out as a frail old lady that nobody pays much attention to and turns out to be a sinister, evil minded sneak that gets Matt into trouble and spies on everybody.

  4. Matt matures very greatly. In the beginning of the book at the birthday party, he was greedy and wanted everything. Now he is very mature and not doing stupid things.

  5. Matt, as happens to us all, matures over the course of the book. Also, when Matt and Maria discover that it was Felicia who poisoned Furball and not Matt, like everyone had suspected, their attitudes towards each other become much more positive then when the specter of the dead dog hung over them both. Matt also abruptly becomes embittered towards El Patron when he discovers that the man was just keeping him around, just had him made, to be spare parts for El Patron.
